President Jokowi: Jakarta E-Prix is in Line with the Development of Eco-Friendly Ecosystems

He also handed over the trophy to the podium winner, a driver from New Zealand Mitch Evans.

"Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly and well. I think this is an event of the future, as we know there will be a shift from the use of fossil fuel vehicles to electricity. Moreover, it will be more popular among the people in Indonesia," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

According to him, it was in line with the national development paradigm that wanted to further develop an eco-friendly vehicle ecosystem.

“And this is good for our country considering we want to build an electric battery ecosystem, starting from nickel, smelters, the lithium battery industry to electric cars. I think this technology is being demonstrated in that direction (eco-friendly vehicles)," he added.

He also stated that the Central Government supports the Jakarta E-Prix, starting from preparation to the day of implementation.

"I witnessed the preparation and everything related to goods entering excise to finance, including all those involved like Parekraf. I think all of this is a form of support," he closed.
